Love for Haiti Art Sale

After the devastating earthquake in Haiti many of us have been left wondering what we can do to help. There are many ways to offer assistance and we should take as many of them as we can.
One thing we are participating in to offer a little help is the Love for Haiti Art Sale.
This event is a time when local area visual artists are coming together to donate their work for sale. The proceeds will be donated to Haiti relief efforts.  The event is Sunday, February 14 from 2-5 at La Reunion Coffee Shop in Helena, AL.
Over 15 local artists are donating everything from prints, paintings, jewelry, knitted items and much more.
You will surely find a gift for your valentine and help a worthy cause. Please consider coming by for a few moments to take a look.
Live acoustic music will be setting the tone and La Reunion has lots of great food and drinks to choose from to warm you up on this chilly day.

Happy Holidays.  Hope you are getting ready for a great Christmas!
We are busy doing photos for Cards and other holiday gift ideas. We custom design cards and even take unique photos.
Recently our friend and client Donna asked us to do a Charlie Brown Christmas for her cards. 
Shelia made a dog house complete with a snoopy and woodstock on top and a Charlie Brown Christmas tree.

Baby Carson- One Year

Sunday afternoon we photographed baby Carson for his one year old portraits.  Talk about baby perfection. He is adorable.   Take a look at a few that we have edited so far.  More to come.

Alexa!

I had two really fun sessions with local musician Alexa Rankin in October and November. She is a great musician and lots of fun to hang out with. But she is also a delight to photograph. She helped create some beautiful images. There are a few of the images in the slidshow to your left. Let us know what you think and check out her myspace to learn all about her.

2010 Here we come!

Wow a 2009 is almost gone. We realize we didn't use this blog very much last year either. We seemed to focus on the wedding blog more. We resolve to use this blog weekly in 2010. We are also planning to catch you up on some things from 2009 in the next couple of weeks before we start into 2010. We had lots of fun in 2009 and met some great people. So come back soon to get all caught up and then we can leap into 2010 together.

More fun from the beach

More images from the beach.

Some of the inspiration for these images has to do with a new book that is being written. So we were pretty focused on some specific shots. But with kids there is always a way to have fun and be creative. That beach ball almost got away from us and almost got the better of us a few time. But it was....

Back from the beach

We are back from the beach. We will be posting some of our family and client photo shoots in the coming days. Check back. You can join us on our next beach trip to do your own beach session. We had so much fun with Nina and Carrie and their families. Lots of great food and fun on the beach. We found a beautiful beach at sunset and another at sunrise. As always we tried to find things that made these images unique to each family and to create some works of art for later canvas hangings. So we did use "Fred's" beautifu yellow/orange scarf! We even found a way to incorporate a very large beachball! Can't wait to share it all with you.

Our first ever Baubles and Beauty event will be Feb 10, from 2-5 at the Historic Tutwiler Hotel in Down town Birmngham. You will have a chance to view and purchase beautiful custom jewelry by Rachel Stewart. You can also have a photo session with Two Sisters Photography. We will have soothing live music from Carlos Pino. Come join us for the event of the season! The historic Tutwiler has been gorgeously restored and is a beautiful setting for this event.

A special area will be set up for portraits, anything from Hollywood glamour style to cute kids portraits. Bring something special to wear and have a mini session done on the spot! This is a great way to get professional portraits done without a sitting fee. Mom and kids, couples, mom for dad, all ideas are welcome.
